A natural nephrite Jade stone ideally suited for new backlighting technologies, combined with the carving of desired patterns so that unique images emerge as from the stone itself. This particular test installation shows a 20 cm by 20 cm plate embedded in a frame as a focal point, with patterns created by thinning parts of the original tile to enhance light translucency. The stone thickness varies between 5 mm and 2 mm.
